CEDAR RAPIDS - Raymond Joseph Driscoll, 86, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, in Courtyard Estates, Bondurant, Iowa, from congestive heart failure. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Teahen Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, by Sister Mary Klisart. Military Honors will be presented by Hanford Honor Guard. Cremation will follow services. Friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and again after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Helen; a son, Daniel Driscoll of Waterloo; two daughters, Sharon (Greg) Keith of Brighton, and Kasey (Dave) McGrath of Bondurant; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Reed of Cedar Rapids; and two brothers, Patrick M. of North Carolina, and Bill of Ames.

Raymond was born May 24, 1921, in Williamsburg, son of Francis and Agnes Kelly Driscoll. He served in the Navy from 1942 to 1945 as an aviation machinist's mate second class. He was a member of the American Legion. Raymond worked as a carpentry superintendent in the Los Angeles school district, retiring in 1978 at the age of 55.

Ray had recently returned to Iowa after living the past 45 years in Southern California. Retiring at an early age allowed Ray to enjoy doing things he enjoyed in life, such as golfing, traveling, running, walking and using his carpentry skills. Ray was always using his talents to help others.
